Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Is this your first time installing EnneadTab on this machine?
Hint: If you have never installed EnneadTab before(never use EnneadTab for Rhino or Revit), or you are setting up a new computer, this is your first time.
How do you know? If you don't see an "EnneadTab Ecosystem" folder in your Documents, it's your first time.
Download and run the OS installer
You can get the installer from one of the option below:
Ennead Network: L:\4b_Design Technology\05_EnneadTab-DB\Stand Alone Tools\EnneadTab_OS_Installer.exe
GitHub: Download from GitHub
Are you getting ready to use EnneadTab for Rhino, Revit, or Both?
Uninstall "legacy" EnneadTab for Rhino (Support dropped in 2023)
How do I know if I have the "legacy" version? If your Rhino toolbar says "Ennead" or "Ennead+", instead of the "EnneadTab", you have the legacy version. Drop in the installer.rui and use the uninstall button from the menu and restart Rhino.
Navigate to the installation folder
Go to C:\Users\[USER_NAME]\Documents\EnneadTab Ecosystem\EA_Dist\Installation
Open ONLY ONE Rhino window
Drag EnneadTab_For_Rhino_Installer.rui from the installation folder into the Rhino window
Find the "Enneaaaaaaaaaaaad" menu and click on "Install"
For Rhino 8 and above: What if the Sidebar is not showing up?
Go to Rhino settings and toggle the 'Block' collection or other checkboxes to trigger activation. Make sure to check the Group: Dynamic Rui at the end.
Restart Rhino
Rhino only remembers the setting of the most recently closed Rhino. Using only one Rhino helps make installation stick.

Check your pyRevit version
What version is your pyRevit? (This depends on what year of Revit you will be using.)
  • 2026: Need pyRevit 5.1.0 or above
  • 2025: Need pyRevit 5.0.1 or above
  • 2024 and before: Need pyRevit 4.8 or above
To get the latest pyRevit, go to pyRevit Releases and pick the first one under "Download". No admin rights needed.
⚠️ DO NOT USE the pyRevit from Company Portal. That version is admin version and will cause issues for us later.
No need to uninstall old EnneadTab-For-Revit
It will be handled automatically.
Make sure no Revit is running during the installation
Navigate to the installation folder
Go to C:\Users\[USER_NAME]\Documents\EnneadTab Ecosystem\EA_Dist\Installation
Double click on EnneadTab-For-Revit.exe
You can now open Revit
⚠️ If pyRevit is not showing up in Revit after installation, this is likely due to a previous global reimaging at the bluescreen disaster that caused pyRevit to be wired to the admin account. Please run the following PowerShell script with admin rights (ask AJ for providing the admin password):
C:\Users\YourUsername\github\EnneadTab-OS\Apps\lib\EnneadTab\scripts\FixPyRevitAdminPath.ps1
(Replace "YourUsername" with your actual Windows username)
(Optional) Configure your Revit's notification level in EnneadTab Revit settings
